Jeopardy Gardening Tool Immoral Pleasure Seeker
Hey POTTY People!
As previously promised, we will continue to use this blog as a non-political space… instead, we will focus on all things fun and interesting…
…and yes, of course all things POTTY related!
This weekend, America received the sad news that Television Host Alex Trebek had unfortunately lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Trebek's lasting impact on television and in American homes will stand the test of time!
We wanted to use this week's POTTYMINTS blog to review some of our Favorite Wrong "Jeopardy!" Answers from over the years!
#5:
The Clue : "By the 4th Century A.D., Rome has 28 Public ones Stacked with rolls of Papyrus."
The Answer: "What are Toilets?"
We would be remiss if we did not start this list with a toilet prompt… I mean, bathrooms are kind of our thing.
Unfortunately for this contestant, it doesn't appear that Toilets are theirs… as the correct answer was: "What are Libraries?"
As much as we love wiping our bums with Papyrus… we are going to have to pass on this one.
The Flush toilet wasn't invented until 1596… so unless the Roman Libraries had secret bathrooms in them… this contestant was absolutely incorrect.
We will say, posing the question of "What are Toilets" comes across as a very deep and philosophical one… perhaps the sculpture of "The Thinker" may have been better served, seated on a toilet.
#4:
The Clue : "This term for a long-handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker."
The Answer: "What is a Hoe?"
Remember Ken Jennings… the Highest Earning American Game Show Contestant of all time! 74 consecutive "Jeopardy!" Wins!
… and yet, he is the one who answered this question with "What is a Hoe".
In true comedic fashion, Alex Trebek a bit taken aback responded by saying: "They teach you that in school in Utah, huh?"
For those of you wondering… the correct answer is "What is a Rake?"
Trust us… we were thinking "Hoe" too, so we can't blame Jennings at all
Either way, the moment ended up being a classic game show moment, and one which showed the great guy Alex Trebek was!

The Clue
:"If Andy yearns for Brenda, and Brenda cares about Charlene who pines for Andy, the three of them form one of these"
The Answer: "What is a threesome?"
We want to keep this blog pretty family friendly, so just to make it abundantly clear… the correct answer was "What is a Love Triangle?"
But my god… you know it's going to be a good answer when the prompt begins with the word "yearn"
Damn! Brenda must really be an incredible lady!
After all… Andy still "yearns" for her even though she has one of the most unattractive names known to man… "Brenda" (Sorry for any Brenda's reading this…)
Let us also address the use of the word "Pines"…
Never has there been a more "Jeopardy!" way to describe lusting for someone sexually… then choosing to use the word "Pine".
Not once have I ever looked at a Pine Cone and said to myself… I should really call Brenda and Charlene…
Whatever it may be… Andy is a lucky guy.
#2:
The Clue : "The name of this pasta, similar to penne, means 'little mustaches.'"
The Answer: "What is Fettuccine?"
The person who incorrectly answered with "Fettuccine"? News anchor, Wolf Blitzer
As a rule of thumb… never trust a guy with the first name Wolf… especially discussing all things Pasta or Italian for that matter.
I have never seen nor heard of any Italian person in history with the name "Wolf"
While the correct answer is "Mostaccioli" a slightly larger version of Penne…
But Wolf… "Fettuccine?!?!" You were given a picture of the Pasta itself… the two don't look anything alike!
It would be equivalent to being asked to identify shapes and shown a picture of a rectangle only to respond … "Fettuccine"?
Come on Wolf… you're better than that.

No prompt for this one, and no clue either… This is just our favorite Jeopardy! Moment
_____
For those of you that watched Alex Trebek and Jeopardy! For years, and for those that never watched the show once… the impact that this show has had on America and American TV will carry on for many years to come!
While Television has now focused much more on Reality Television shows, or dating shows… Alex Trebek and Jeopardy! Are timeless and is a show anyone and everyone can understand and get behind.
For many, Jeopardy! Was the show they would watch during dinner with the family, and for those profound moments of time spent together, both with family and with Alex Trebek… we are forever grateful.
We hope you all have a great week, and please remember to be safe!
